===Please note that this Equity Working Group was created and lead by Thomas Gaffney in 2009 but the current Equity Officer is Nicholas Lennings. Shuld you wish to contact the Equity Officer, send an email to Nicholas Lennings at equityofficer@muls.org===

Below follows the post in regards to the expression of interest, for second semester 2009.

MULS and the Macquarie Law School are working towards creating an integrated Mentoring and Peer Assisted Learning program that will significantly increase educational services and student support for Macquarie Law students. An Equity Working Group has been established to drive the inception of this program and MULS is calling for expressions of interests from all Macquarie Law students. Please contact the MULS Equity Officer, Thomas Gaffney, at equityofficer@muls.org and read the full article here.

The Macquarie University Law Society, together with the Macquarie Law School, is looking to implement a new program of mentoring and peer-assisted learning (PAL) that will see a significant increase in educational services and student support. In order for this new program to be established, MULS and the law school need interested students involved in its preparation. To that end, MULS is establishing the Equity Working Group, with its first objective being to drive the inception of this new program of Mentoring and PAL.

While the Equity Working Group will focus initially on PAL and mentoring, its scope will extend to all matters of equity, student engagement & welfare and community involvement. If you are interested in any of these areas, and want to make a difference with new and innovative ideas, please contact Thomas Gaffney at equityofficer@muls.org to express your interest.

For the purposes of the PAL/Mentoring program, students with an interest in student welfare (that is, the continued effect of depression and isolation on students) and/or experience in mentoring and peer assisted learning are encouraged to contact Thomas Gaffney at equityofficer@muls.org to express their interest.

We are looking to involve as many students and perspectives as possible in the Working Group, so don't be afraid to contact equityofficer@muls.org and get involved with an initiative that has MULS and Macquarie Law School support and will greatly help you and your fellow law students for years to come.

Please email Thomas Gaffney at equityofficer@muls.org by COB Friday 24th July 2009 to express your interest. The Equity Working Group will have its first meeting in Week 1 of Semester 2.
